Ethernet based internet connectivity
2nd November 2016
Choosing the right connectivity for your business
In this article we explore Ethernet based internet connectivity. Some of the benefits include:
- Guaranteed bandwidth – you’ll get the bandwidth you’re paying for.
- Uncontended connection – you don’t share your connection with any other premises. You’ll get a 1:1, uncontended connection to the internet.
- Service Level Agreement – in the unlikely case of a fault occurring, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that your connection will be restored within the timeframes agreed.
The newest service to be added to the Ethernet based internet category is EoFTTC (Ethernet over Fibre To The Cab). EoFTTC is proving to be one of the most cost effective solutions for small businesses who not only need guaranteed speeds, but also a service level agreement to ensure availability.
Ethernet based internet connectivity: EoFTTC
Our EoFTTC packages uses a fibre broadband service to deliver a business-assured service with a service level agreement. EoFTTC packages offer guaranteed speeds of 20Mb, with download speeds rising up to 80Mb, dependant on location.
Ethernet based internet connectivity: EFM
EFM (Ethernet in the first mile) is slowly being replaced by EoFTTC, but it still has its place if EoFTTC is not yet available. Service, speed and availability is determined by distance from the exchange.
Ethernet based internet connectivity: Leased Line
For the ultimate internet connectivity offering speeds of up-to 1GB, Ethernet Leased Lines offer 100% availability to ensure your connection is always available and reliable.
Check your connection
We can quickly check which Ethernet services are available to you, all we need is your full address, and a telephone number. Ethernet services typically take between 30-75 days to provision. Subject to survey.
