Apple has released an emergency patch to combat a potential exploit in its OS. The exploit is very dangerous and could allow someone to take control of your device.
This applies to Macs, iPads, iPhones. Rule of thumb, if it starts with an ‘i’, update it!!! Fortunately, Apple devices are easy to auto update, meaning you may have already received the update and didn’t know. But it doesn’t do any harm to manually check for updates.
This is usually achieved by opening ‘Settings’, ‘General’ and ‘Software Update’. If auto updates aren’t turned on in there, then turn it on!
